We’ve all heard of fight or flight when it comes to stress. The way we’re wired as humans is that we survive by responding to dangers and threats. Our ancient ancestors needed to fight or flee threats and the response to the stress is faster breathing, increased heart rate, and alertness. Some stress there fore is healthy.
Chronic stressStress is gradually becoming unavoidable in this present world. Everything surrounding us including our relationships, jobs, health, issues at the workplace and finances can cause stress. Life is so fast paced, and with less time for ourselves, it’s no wonder it begins to affect our health.
Long term stress can lead to many other health conditions including cardiovascular disease, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, drug and alcohol dependency, gastrointestinal problems, weight gain and skin/hair problems.
How hypnotherapy can help
It is crucial you get help as soon as possible. When stressed, our thoughts are chaotic and we are unable to come up with realistic solutions. We can feel like we’re drowning, unable to find a way out.
Where possible we will work together to identify small daily adjustments to reduce any unnecessary stresses. We will then work to change the feelings generated by stress and in turn change how the body reacts when it comes to stress. This helps and gives you room for relaxation so that even in stressful situations you are able to keep calm.
