What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a completely natural trance like state. You are fully conscious and able to move. Hypnosis can not make you do anything you do not want to do. You will just be sitting in a comfortable chair with your eyes closed.
Can anyone be hypnotised?
Anyone can enter a hypnotic trance if they wish. As with anything in life, some may find it easier or quicker to enter trance than others. Either way, I will work with you to achieve this through relaxation.
How does it feel?
When in a hypnotic trance most people will feel calm and deeply relaxed. It is a very pleasant experience. Some people may feel tingling or numbness in their limbs, heaviness in different parts of the body or feelings of floating.
It is also similar to driving and reaching your destination then realising you don’t remember most of the journey. It is similar to being engrossed with a film or book, fully conscious but not really paying attention to those people or noises around you. You are still fully conscious but on autopilot.
What is the subconscious?
Your subconscious is the part of your mind responsible for thousands of everyday actions and thoughts. Most you are not even aware of. For example, you do not need to remember how to walk every time you want to go somewhere, your subconscious does this for you automatically, the same with breathing and many other actions. Another responsibility of your subconscious is to keep you safe. Your conscious mind is the part of your mind you use to make most of your daily conscious decisions like what to have for dinner or where to go on holiday.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of therapeutic suggestions to overcome particular problems. Sometimes our subconscious is responsible for creating a particular fear or anxiety when it has felt threatened in the past. It also learns patterns of behaviours whether good or bad.
We have probably all wondered why we’ve consciously wanted to stop a certain behaviour/habit or tried to rationally talk ourself out of a particular fear and been unable to do so. This is because the subconscious is responsible for creating the habit or fear and we are not able to access it consciously. This is where a hypnotherapist (me) can help you into a trance state and give your subconscious positive suggestions to overcome whatever it is you are struggling with.
How will I feel after the session?
Most people feel incredibly calm and relaxed after the therapy session.
How long are the sessions?
Most hypnotherapy sessions are 1 hour. Smoking cessation is 90-100 mins.
How much are the sessions?
1h sessions are £60.
Smoking cessation (which takes only 1 session to treat) £150.
Discounts are available if you are in receipt of benefits.
How do I book a telephone consultation or session?

Do I need to bring anything with me?
You do not need to bring anything with you but I would suggest wearing clothes and shoes you find comfortable.
